Very fresh

Very good tea. I will reorder.

Great tea sampler!

Excellent tea sampler at a reasonable price. We bought this for friends as a gift so we weren’t able to taste all of the teas but the one we tried was quite good.

Price and Taste don't match

Ever since the local tea merchant(s) went out of business in my neighborhood, I have been searching for a smooth, full-body Darjeeling black tea (preferable second flush) but I have been unsuccessful. I saw this 'rated' tea leaves and gave it a try for the 10 pack sampler. I have tried 7 out of 10 different leaves so far and found it to lack body, aroma, and flavor. Even if it is steeped for 5 minutes, the tea is too smooth and tastes literally watered down. Tea leaf rating seems accurate in that leaves were properly sealed in a bag and the leaves were virtually unbroken. I need to find a sweet, fragrant and a lingering/satisfying finish elsewhere.

I don’t think so...

I thought this was going to be really beautiful Darjeeling, but...meh. The price is way too high for fairly mediocre tea.

Not all samples are equal.

I am an avid tea drinker with many years of experience, although I've been drinking Chinese teas almost exclusively till recentry, when my favorite tea supplier JK Teashop 'broke bad' out of sudden and stopped sending out merchandise while still kindly accepting my payments, so it was the turning point when I realized I need to look for a new supplier of fresh, gourmet, high grade teas for reasonable price - which is not an easy task at all. After trying few eBay sellers, I found one Indian seller from Darjeeling area, selling local teas, good quality, but selling in quantities of 500gr and up, which is very prohibitive when you want to try lots of different types. So I kept looking and sooner or later found Vahdam sampler packs on Amazon. So, I received the Darjeeling sampler, the packing is beautiful and well designed. The company's story and mission is compelling and touching, you just feel like you want to help these guys. I liked that there is the picking date on the package in addition to expiration date. Really nice. I pick one sample 'Castleton Darjeeling', steep it carefully, following all the instructions that are on the package. Then pour it into fine yixing tea cup and bring it to my nose, anticipating wonderful sweet fruitty winey aroma of a good Darjeeling tea... Nothing like that. No any smell at all. Well, when I sniff in thoroughly, I am able to distinguish a faint smell of cow's crap, and that's about it. Taste is not any better, like hot water with some bitterness.I am confused and outraged - isn't is supposed to be a good tea? Pretty expensive? All these positive reviews?I am immediately trying to file return through Amazon, and find out that grocery items are non-returnable. I am completely berserking by now, and the whole genious crime scheme is completely clear to me: they just pack small portions of cow's dung into pretty packages and sell them as fine tea to ignorant American coffee drinkers, which supposingly enjoy it, otherwise how wou...
